Father's Day Celebrations
As usual, any celebration for us mean eat, eat, eat !
On Saturday, we (with KA's family) dined at MK Steamboat at SingPost Centre. Was pretty annoyed with the sitting arrangement. We had booked 2 days ahead, not wanting to repeat the history on Mother's Day when we almost couldn't find a place to eat as many places were fully booked. The restuarant called KA up in the afternoon, asking if they could split us into 2 tables! How absolutely ridiculous! There are only 11 of us and we would expect the restuarant to have already make necessary arrangement since we had called way ahead. KA of course turned them down. But what a shock we had when we arrived. They actually tried to squeeze us into a small table meant for 6 persons, extended with another tiny square table! It turned out that they DID have a bigger and longer table, but was reserved for another group of 15 persons. What fumed me was that our name was first on the reservation list. How can they shove us out to make way for later customers ? I confronted the manager, but the lady tried to reason with us that the table CAN sit all eleven of us. Not wanting to spoil the evening, we let her go, but one thing for sure, we wouldn't go back again. The dinner is okay, similar to Coca, but not as good.
Sunday's celebration with my side of family was much better. Sick with all the heavy stuff we had for the string of celebrations past weeks (Mother's Day, Jayden's birthday, Valentia's birthday, and it's going to be my mum's birthday next week!), we had a change by buying food over to my sis's place instead of eating out. It was quite a feast - we had roast duck, black sauce chicken, yong tau foo and roti prata from Upper Thomson, the famous Katong 'tau kwa pau' and a yummy cake from Awfully Chocolate and durians for dessert. The kids had lotsa fun playing with Valentia's toys. As for the adults (at least me), we managed to see down and watch 'Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secret'.
