Back!
I'm back! It was a good trip, but we missed Jayden alot. Will post some photos here later, as they are all in KA's notebook.
We spent 5 days in London and just 2 days in Paris. Didn't manage to cover as many places as I planned to - I was too ambitious and over estimated Jolyne's physical capability. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the trip tremendously, I must say.
London is great. It's the beginning of summer, so the weather is sunny on most days. Wasn't quite used to the long summer day though - the day is as long as from 5am to 9pm. How I love the museums and galleries there! We visited the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and the National Gallery (which is awesome!). Wish I've more time to visit the others like the Tate, V&A, British Museum! I also like the parks there. My, they are huge! We went to Hyde Park on Sunday and could see Londoners making good use of the park - reading, having picnic, chatting, rollerbladding, sunning, or just napping. Other places we went : London Eye, Big Ben and the House of Parliament, Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace, etc. Err, nothing much to say, just some touristy places. Another thing, London is really not a good place for shopping, with everything three times more expensive than Singapore. One exception is the McArthurGlen outlet village at Swindon (thanks to Ratna's recommendation) which we spent half a day there, where Gap, Next, and Clark's stuff are downright cheap.
As for Paris, strictly speaking, we were thare for only 1.5 days and just visited 2 places : Eiffel Tower and Disneyland. Disneyland is the highlight of the trip for Jolyne, and she enjoyed herself thoroughly for the whole day spent there. We had lots of fun trying to catch the disney characters for autograph. I still preferred the one at Anahiem USA.
Realised the commenting system is down. Hmm, wonder what's wrong?
OK, gotta stop here. My backlog works are driving me crazy.
