Mid-autumn festival
It was a moonless mid-autumn festival. Moonless because there was a heavy downpour since early evening. Thick clouds still loomed in the sky although the rain had stopped. The neighbourhood is eerily quiet, as though everyone had forgotten about the day. Even then, it did not dampen the children's spirits. They busied themselves with lighting the lanterns, hanging them up, venturing into the dark corners, competing whose candle could last longer, re-lighting candles ... Read : endless fun. Though I do wonder if they understand the meaning behind this traditional Chinese festival, or if it bother them at all. Family get-together, to them, is time to have fun, fun, and more fun. Still, I'm glad to say that our family still hold on to the tradition of celebrating such occasions together. And I hope that this is instilled in the kids, and they will pass on this good tradition in the years to come.

The garden was illuminated by the colourful lanterns.

Cousin Yixun pointed to a dim-out lantern, as Jayden looked on.

Happy weekend everyone !
