Books
I'm planning to buy some books for Jayden. Shortlisted are :
* Where Is Baby's Belly Button? A Lift-the-Flap Book
* Where Is Baby's Mommy? A Lift-The-Flap Book
* Mr Brown can Moo, can you? by Dr Seuss
* My First ABC Board Book, by DK
Our nightly routine includes a bedtime reading with the 2 children. Jolyne loves reading and can already read some simple books by herself, although she still prefer me to read to her. As for Jayden, I've observed that he has also taken a liking to books. He will snatch the book from me and try to flip it himself, face brightens up when seeing his favourite page. Eric Carle's books are his favourite. However as all babies alike, most of the time he treats the books like toys. He will bang the book (mostly boards), drool on it, lick it, bite it, tear it, and throw it to the floor - you should see his delighted smile whenever he hears the 'bang'. If he has any chance to lay his hands on a magazine or paperback, the outcome would be disastrous! We have a few torn and tattered old magazines, all results of his enthusiastic work. That asides, it's actually quite funny to watch his concentration and keenness when ripping a book apart
. And it does keep him occupied for a few moments.
