Mars gazing, but no 2 moons
Did everyone see it yesterday? It was there, the brightest star of all in the sky, with a reddish-orange glow, out-shining all the other stars. We didn't even need to march down to Mount Faber/Bukit Timah Hill/Science Centre/what-have-you to see it. All we did was to look up at the sky from our garden, and there it was, "above the chiku tree" (described Jolyne).
Was chatting with KA last evening, that I was expecting to see 2 shiny moons side-by-side. He laughed and said if we could see Mars as big as the moon, we'd probably be sucked off by its gravity. Of course, how silly me. Then suddenly I realised, hey, it was the last day of the lunar month, so how could we even see the moon?
So there was only one bright but lonely star after all.
