Neighbour
Yesterday, we visited our neighbour Shawn & baby Ashley. We were actually living a stone's throw from each other but never met before. I got to know her through internet, and this is the first time I met an internet friend face to face.
We were greeted warmly by Shawn and Ashley. Ashley is such an adorable and sociable lil' girl! Although 1 month younger than Jayden, she could already walk and speak very well.
The 2 babies did not really interact with each other, though I think they didn't mind each other's company. Ashley had lots of toys, so it was a change from Jayden's usual ones.
Ashley saying 'hi'.
Jayden was in awe of Ashley's colorful musical piano.
Jayden : Come and join us, Ashley! It's fun in here!
Although we've been living here for years, we did not really know most of our neighbours. Except for a nod of head, I've not spoken with most of them. It's so unlike the olden days where children of neighbours played and grew up together. Now, people keep their doors shut most of the time. Felt kinda sad when I realized this. There's a Chinese saying that next-door neighbours are more important than relatives who live far. How true, cos in times of emergency, who is better to help us than our neighbours? Perhaps it's time we open up and reach out to them ?
