Sleep
I can't sleep well when KA is not around. The kids miss their dad-dad too, especially when we do our nightly routine without him. It takes me longer than usual to fall asleep, yet to be aroused by the slightest sound, and nervous about not being able to wake up at 6am. Jayden's wakefulness makes things worse. For the past nights, he had waken up around 3am. Wide awake, mind you, and playfully roll all over me and Jolyne (we all sleep together on the family bed when KA is out of town). Last night While cuddling him close and trying to make him sleep back, I dozed off. He wiggled away and sat by himself at the edge of the bed. I was suddenly awake (mother instinct I guess) and grabbed his leg before he fell over. Strangely, he's not this restless when KA is around.
I've been coming to office bleary-eyed, trying to fight off my grogginess with mugs of coffee. It doesn't help when I've tons of work piled up on my table, and endless phone calls and meetings. I just can't concentrate on a single thing. Can't wait for the weekend to arrive, when hopefully, I'll be able to catch more sleep.
Now you see me now you don't - our nightly game of peekaboo.
