Charity Work
This Sunday, we are planning to take part in the monthly food distribution day organised by Heart to Heart Service. This charity organisation is set up by 105 year-old Teresa Hsu, who, incidentally, is the winner of the Active Senior Citizen of the Year 2003 Award given by MCDS. I've not met her before, but I've known about her from the papers and TV. I am very moved by her noble act. Despite her age, she is actively involved in social work to help the aged, disabled and other needy people to lead a better life. I truly admire her selfless contribution and never-ending energy. Really looking forward very much to meet her in person this Sunday.
If you are free this Sunday and are looking for a meaningful way to spend a morning, come and join in the food distribution. It's all very simple : the food is already packed by sis Teresa and her helpers. Each group of us will be allocated to a household, and what we need to do is to visit the folks with the food, and spend some time to chat with them. Interested? Drop me a line. If you can, do also help by donating the necessary items listed here.
